May is Women’s Health Care Month, and we are highlighting the dedicated women of our clinic. Women provide essential health services to around 5 billion people worldwide. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statics, in 2021, over 16 million women worked in the healthcare and social assistance sector. That means that women accounted for 77.6% of the total 21.2 million workers in the industry in the United States. Additionally, two out of every three caregivers are women who provide regular support to children, adults or people with chronic illnesses or disabilities.
With over 500 people employed at Bond Clinic, P.A., 85% of our workforce is women, and they play a pivotal role in our day-to-day operations. They are our doctors, nurses & hundreds of other positions that have sustained us for 75 years. At every level of our company, women develop the quality of care, access and community engagement that has shaped us since 1948.
For example, we spoke with Kaylee Jackson, a new receptionist to the clinic, about the value of women in the medical field. “Since working here, I have noticed that the women of our clinic take time to understand our patients and provide ongoing emotional support on a daily basis,” says Kaylee. “I feel that women have a strong approach to patient care that helps everyone.”
Paula Alderman, an HR Representative at the clinic, gave us her incites to work at Bond Clinic. “In my 37 years of employment at Bond Clinic, I have observed many changes,” said Paula. “When I look around, I see women holding jobs at every level. With endless career paths, job opportunities, competitive salaries and being able to help people, the healthcare field has everything. Our voice and representation are stronger than ever and I am proud to be part of that.”
We want to thank the women of Bond Clinic that work to help enrich and care for the people of our community, but we also want to encourage you to make your health a priority this month. Take some time to get checked out by a medical professional, enjoy a healthy diet, stay active and prioritize your mental health.
